This full-day course is targeted toward individuals who are new to the proposal writing process or who want to polish their skills. Attendees will learn the basic components and format of a grant proposal and how to package applications most effectively. Completing grant applications online will also be addressed.
The presenter, Laurie Anderson, began her professional career as a college writing instructor, and her writing skills have aided her in every subsequent position, including serving as executive director of two small nonprofits. Laurie has more than twelve years' experience writing proposals and was the founding manager of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Foundation Center. Currently, she is the Grants Manager at the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, where she prepares grant applications for foundations, corporations, and government agencies. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Grants Professionals Association.
